The local culture office in Granada city and the fine arts faculty of Granada University entrusted us with the graphic design of their catalogue ‘Jugar con las cenizas’ (playing with ashes). It is a series of works of art which questions the way traditional museums exhibit their pieces, without actually abandoning this format.

What do we mean when we talk about art? Almost certainly it will be about a burnt area. There was no way or means of putting out the flames, but we clearly understand what follows: searching for ash in a cosmos of ash. So we come to our irrevocable destiny, perhaps our starting point. Throughout the design process, each piece, be it a poster, catalogue cover, banner or invitation, was covered with ash. Halfway down the surface the ash gradually disappears until it becomes white, acting as a simile for starting again.
