We designed the visual identity and its graphic communication system for the exhibition “Vivir en una alquería de al-Andalus. El Castillejo de Los Guájares”, organized by Fundación Caja Rural Granada.

The fortified settlement of El Castillejo (Los Guájares) is one of the most significant Andalusi archaeological sites in the region. Its state of preservation, together with the ceramic materials found inside, has provided valuable information about the vicissitudes of an alquería of al-Andalus and the living conditions of its inhabitants.

For the visual identity we based our approach on ceramic objects as a visual language and on the archaeological drawings made by G. Rosselló during the archaeological interventions of 1985. The ceramic pieces are organized as a proportional pattern that respects the real scales and relationships between the objects. The result is a flexible visual system, capable of adapting to different formats, both in physical and digital media, without losing identity.
