Visual identity and graphic system design for the editorial collection of the Virgilio Castilla Historical Memory Research Award, including the design and layout of its first publication. Virgilio Castilla Carmona was a politician from Granada, committed to the Republic and democratic principles, who was assassinated on August 2, 1936. The project defines an editorial line consistent with the nature of the award, conceived to give voice to researchers and to disseminate unpublished studies on the Second Republic, the Civil War, the Postwar period, and the Transition to democracy in the province of Granada.
The graphic concept is based on the ideas of award and voice: the initials “VC” are built as a symbol that simultaneously evokes a trophy and a figure projecting their voice. A sober and symbolic visual system that combines recognition and drive, turning the identity of the award into a metaphor for dissemination and shared memory.
